The Dardanelles Victory, which this year we celebrate the 102nd anniversary of, holds an exceptional place in history as one of the brightest and greatest heroic event of our nation.
Our glorious people reshaped both our nation and world history with this victory, thanks to high spirits and strong faith, despite having nothing and being up against the impossible.
In Çanakkale, in 1915, it has been seen once again that no weapon on earth will be able to triumph over the love of the homeland and nation. In this respect, the Dardanelles Victory is a symbol and image of hope for all nations and all of humanity who are fighting for independence as much as it is for our glorious nation.
Thanks to Çanakkale Victory’s glorious place in history, Turkey will have a much brighter, much clearer future as an undivided nation, overcoming all threats like terror and similar threats made to our brotherhood today.
We therefore regard this victory not merely as a success of our past, but as one of the most important inspiration behind our decisive and honorable civilization movement that we are still pursuing. We are taking our Republic to the future with inspiration from this victory.
With that in mind, we celebrate the anniversary of the Dardanelles Victory; on March 18th Martyrs Day, with mercy and gratitude I pay tribute to all of our martyrs who entrusted this sacred homeland to us, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, along with all of our heroes.
