Türksat took its place at the Satellite 2020 exhibition, one of the most important satellite communication events in the world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Turkish stands at Satellite 2020, which was organized in the US capital Washington DC, and attended by Transportation and Infrastructure Deputy Minister Ömer Fatih Sayan, Turkish Ambassador to Washington Serdar Kılıç and TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) Ambassador to Washington Mustafa Lakadamyalı, Sayan stated that especially operations carried out in the satellite field, will take Turkey’s goals for the year 2023 even further.

Within the scope of Satellite 2020, Sayan noted that they held meetings with companies like SpaceX and Airbus, he added, “Turkey has come a long way in terms of the satellite sector, especially with the actions carried out in the last ten years; the whole world also acknowledges this.”

Sayan stated the participation shown at the fair by domestic manufacturing companies made him particularly proud, he added, “ We will continue to work with all our companies in order to become a country that produces and exports what it produces, rather a country that is only known to be a market in the field of satellite.”

After the speeches, the opening of the stands were carried out by Deputy Minister Sayan, Ambassador Kılıç, Ambassador Lakadamyalı, Türksat CEO Cenk Şen, Türksat Vice President Hasan Hüseyin Ertok, TUSAŞ Executive Vice President Dr. Selman Nas, STM Business Development Manager Edip Deniz, Profen Executive President Önder Havuzlu and Executive Board Member Yusuf Orbay Soydan, Profen Chief Business Development Officer Cem Odaman and Profen General Manager Kamil Yüksel.

Later Sayan, Kılıç and Lakadamyalı walked around Türksat, TUSAŞ, STM and Profen’s stands and received information regarding their projects.

Sayan, who was careful not to shake hands due to the new type of Coronavirus COVID-19, greeted the attendees by bringing his hand to his heart like President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Türksat 6A has come to a new stage

Turkish Aircraft Industries Corporation (TUSAŞ) Executive Vice President Dr. Selman Nas stated that in terms of Turkey’s first domestic satellite Türksat 6A, production and integration activities related to the engineering model have been completed to a large extent. He added, “Integration operations have also started for the satellites flight mode.”  

 

At the fair where they presented Türksat 6A, Turkey’s first domestic satellite, to the liking of the attendees, Nas reminded everyone that the project, which has an important role in the country’s ability to manufacture satellites, was initiated to meet the satellite needs of Türksat. In this context, Nas stated that as TUSAŞ, they have taken their place as project executing organization along with TÜBİTAK Space, Aselsan and CTECH, which are all leading institutions of our country.
