Despite geographical instability, negative developments in foreign exchange and interest rates, and the shrinkage in the television-broadcasting sector, Türksat in the last year achieved its highest net sales, operating profit, EBITDA, and period income. The company, which will celebrate its 15th anniversary this year, has increased its net sales by 35%, operating profit by 104% and its EBITDA by 53%.

According to the information gathered from the Türksat Annual Report, Türksat continues to be a pioneer in the technological changes and developments of the country. It continues to rise on strong foundations by carrying out operations that make a difference.

The company, which will celebrate its 15th year this year, grew 35% in 2018 and brought net sales closer to 1.7 billion TRY. The company’s EBITDA increased by 53.2% to 601 million TRY on a yearly bases. The EBITDA margin reached 35.9%, an increase of 4.2 points compared to the previous year.

The company finished off the year with 333 million TRY operating profit and 491 million TRY period income. Operating profit increased by 104%, whereas the period income increased by 106%.

Türksat contributed to the future of Turkey, by investing a record breaking 1.1 billion TRY in the fields of satellite, cable, and ICT in the year 2018 alone.

The journey began in the 90s with the first generation Türksat 1B and Türksat 1C communication satellites. Today, planned operations for the fifth and sixth generation satellites Türksat 5A, Türksat 5B and Türksat 6A, are well on their way.

The field of cable services has a ready capacity capable of reaching 4.1 million people and by opening it to other operators, it has prevented the waste of resource and it has turned it into a source of revenue for the company.

The company, by using the infrastructure of other operators, is also preparing to provide service in other regions where there is no infrastructure.

With 2.5 billion transactions made through the e-Government Portal, more than 40 million users are able to access public services quickly and more easily. The company that provides such services, continues its efforts to become an IT solution center for the IT projects of public institutions.
