During the Digital Turkey Idea Marathon, Değnekçiler team placed first, Piton took second place, TekHat Team third, Medeniyet Elektronik fourth, and Verticality For Everyone placed fifth.

At the Digital Turkey Idea Marathon, which was organized for the first time this year, Değnekçiler Team from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University placed first. Piton Team comprising of students from Gazi University and Necmettin Erbakan University took second place. Third place was given to TekHat, who represented Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University. Fourth place was awarded to Medeniyet Elektronik from Istanbul Medeniyet University. Fifth place was given to students from Marmara University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.

Koç: In Digital Turkey, everyone’s idea is important

Presidency Digital Conversion Office President Ali Taha Koç stated they would like to hear everyone’s idea on the Digital Turkey platform (e-Government Portal), and in regions where the application is not used they plan to organize idea marathons.

With the attendance of Presidency Digital Conversion Office President Ali Taha Koç and Türksat CEO Cenk Şen, “Digital Turkey Idea Marathon” kicked off at Ivedik Organized Industrial Zone.

In his speech, Koç stated that the marathon was a first and that more like was to come. Koç underlined that on the Digital Turkey platform, which allows public institutions services to be accessed via internet, they would like to hear everyone’s ideas. He added, “Today we are here, in the future you will be in our position. You will take this platform even further. For this reason, we are open to any ideas you may have. This marathon is a first, we will realize it later with academicians, public institutions, and will especially go to regions where the Digital Turkey platform is not used and realize it with citizens.”

The goal is to have a technology producing Turkey

Koç underlined that their aim is for everyone to use Digital Turkey whenever and wherever he or she wants.

Koç stated that the ideas of the young individuals will be evaluated under three main headings like creativity, social impact and applicability, he went on to add that their goal is to implement the projects that have ranked.

Koç said, “Use Digital Turkey abundantly, we need to work hard in order not to be a technology consuming Turkey, but rather a technology producing Turkey.”

Over 500 students competed

A total of 169 teams comprising of 584 university students competed in the “Digital Turkey Idea Marathon,” organized by Türksat under the auspice of the Presidency Digital Conversion Office.

The team, which completed the marathon first was given 15 thousand Turkish Liras, second place was given 10 thousand Turkish Liras, third place was given 5 thousand Turkish Liras, fourth place was given 2 thousand Turkish Liras, and one thousand five hundred Turkish Liras was given to fifth place.

With this marathon, the aim was to develop feasible, sustainable and technology oriented ideas regarding e-Government and e-Transformation issues, and to present project proposals that will enable the design of new services.
